Blue Christmas Worship
The Christmas season is a time of joy and hope, “the most wonderful time of the year” - but it doesn’t always feel that way for everyone or at all times. Whether you are grieving or missing loved ones from Christmases past, struggling with alienation from friends and family, or living with anxiety and depression in this cold, dark season, it can be hard to handle the pressure to feel in the Christmas spirit.
As we near the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, this service gives us an opportunity to sit in some of the harder parts of this season. This “Blue Christmas” service will be a quieter and more meditative space, allowing folks to be present in community and to be held in the love of God which remains even when the light of Bethlehem’s star is hard to see. All are welcome to join us for this service of prayer, reflection, remembrance, and togetherness.
Christmas Carols and Cookies
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” -Elf (2003)
Come join in an evening of festive singing and joyful merriment! We will spend time singing favorite songs of the holiday season together, followed by a reception of Christmas cookies, hot cocoa, and celebration. This event is free to attend, and all are welcome!
Third Sunday in Advent
