Blue Christmas

Blue Christmas or Longest Night services are observed by many churches on the winter solstice, which is the day with the most hours of darkness. The purpose of this service is to provide a safe and supportive space for those who may find the holiday season difficult. This includes individuals who have lost loved ones and are grieving, those who experience estrangement from family and friends, those who live with depression and anxiety, and anyone who feels the pressure to appear happy throughout the Christmas season. The worship service will be quiet and contemplative and will acknowledge the complex emotions that the holiday season can bring up. The focus will be on the promise of hope as Jesus enters our broken world. All community members are welcome to attend.
