The church is not a building, but a community united in love and dedicated to serving that love in the world. Our church is only able to do what it does thanks to the generous support of its many members across generations — those who have given gifts of time, talent, and treasure.

Our general fund is responsible for all the day-to-day operations of the church: payment of bills, staff salaries, and other budgeted expenses. Our annual budget is approved by majority vote of our membership, and includes the operating costs of the church as well as regular giving to our ministry partners.

This fund is administered at the Pastor’s discretion, and is used for ministry activities that serve fellowship purposes among the church community and the broader Syracuse community. Additionally, this fund is available to provide support to individuals and families in emergency situations at the Pastor’s discretion.

Gifts to this fund are typically made in memory of a loved one, and are used on projects within the church where there is significant need.

This fund provides for the covering of large buildings and grounds expenses not included in the regular budgeting process.

This is our permanent endowment, managed by the American Baptist Foundation and overseen by an assigned committee from EBC.

In addition to our budgeted contributions to local missions, we join with ABCUSA in annual offerings including America for Christ, One Great Hour of Sharing, World Mission Offering, and the Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering.

We hold special offerings throughout our church year in celebration of important times for our faith, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
