Church Membership

On a Sunday morning, the worship service will include folks from every walk of life. There are those who are visiting for the first time and those who rarely miss a Sunday. There are those who bring their families and those who come on their own. There are those who are long time committed Christians and those who are trying to sort out what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. In worship, we come to meet God.  The services and events are welcoming events. You do not have to be a member of the church to participate, receive communion, or serve in many areas.

When someone would like to commit themselves to this local church, they may become a member. As a Baptist church, we believe that the membership of the church should be made up of people who have publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ. Members make Eastwood Baptist Church their church home, and commit themselves to ministry through the church. Baptist churches believe that every Christian is a minister and members meet periodically to make decisions for the church as whole.

You may make your faith public and become a member in one of three ways. First, you may be baptized as an adult. Some instruction is provided. Second, some become members by transferring membership from another Christian church. The pastor can assist this matter. Thirdly, you can become a member by publicly declaring your faith in Jesus Christ in morning worship.
